Unfortunately, Volaic Spears are the ONLY ones that look good. Paragons got hosed on good weapon designs.

I disagree, IMO the Charr, Serrated, Ornate, Tengu and even Draconic spears all look pretty cool. the non-BMP ones are a pain to find though because nobody holds onto them to sell.

Personally I found the spiraling, crenelated and tengu spear skin very good looking.

And on another thing, lookwise I find undyed voltaics better then black ones, imo black ones look so shitty. But yeah many people want it black because of its so called better leetness. Gladly I will never join those masses and stand out as a nub too them with my gear.

you are too picky. even the default pvp one is fine (the default daggers are another story though - can you say scissors?)

Well, the real problem is that all the spears are very small. You can't see any detail in them really. Some of them look fine (the default one is nice), but most of them are... sticks.

The Voltaic spear for me stand's out. After i dyed it black(band wagoner!) I actually liked the blue electricity pulsing over the spear because i could actually see something.

Although, I have a V.Spear now, I very much enjoyed my Lesser Guardian spear. It has enough definition to look more than just a rod and dyes almost completely black. It's a nice alternative if you can find one, I've yet to see someone with one besides myself... And maybe a Paragon once.

How much damage does a spear do in the hands of a caster with 0 in spear mastery, assuming no damage buffs are in effect... how much does an appropriate wand do in the hands of the same caster vs armor 60?

pretty puny damage since you don't meet the requirement. I think I do 3 damage.

You usually only do 3 damage, well most of the time...

Spears are the only one-handed ranged weapon with +30hp.

Being able to do tiny bits of damage puts them ahead of swords/axes.

If you are a caster, you shouldn't be spending too much time "wand spiking" anyways. If you have to stop and auto attack for a long period of time, you are doing something wrong.
